Landed is a privacy-first fishing journal. Your data stays on your device. We don't track you, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads. You paid for the app — that's how we make money.
The following data is stored locally on your iPhone using an on-device database and is never transmitted to any server unless you explicitly choose to share:
Landed uses a backend service hosted on Cloudflare for two optional AI features:
Both features require an active internet connection. If you're offline, Landed falls back to a built-in tips database with no data transmitted.
If you choose to use the Buddies feature, Landed uses Supabase (a cloud database) to:
Sign in with Apple provides a private relay email by default — we never see your real email address. You can use the Buddies feature without sharing any personal information beyond a display name you choose.
When you share a Trip Report, the report (including photos, catches, and location) is uploaded to our Cloudflare Worker and stored in Cloudflare KV storage. The report is accessible via a unique URL that you control. Reports do not contain your name or account information unless you include them in notes.
If you enable the Apple Health integration, Landed writes fishing trip data as workouts to Apple HealthKit on your device. This data stays within Apple's Health ecosystem and is governed by Apple's privacy policies. Landed does not read any health data — it only writes workout records.
Landed requests location permission to:
Location data is stored locally on your device. It is only transmitted when you use the AI features (approximate coordinates) or share a trip report. You can deny location permission and still use the app — location-dependent features will simply be unavailable.
Landed does not use any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics services. We do not collect crash reports, usage metrics, or behavioral data. We have no idea how you use the app, and we prefer it that way.
Landed does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require an account to use its core features.
Since your data is stored locally, deleting the app removes all your data. If you've used the Buddies feature, you can delete your cloud account by signing out in the app's settings — this removes your profile and buddy connections from our servers.
We may update this policy as we add features. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Since we don't have your email, we can't notify you directly — check back here occasionally.
